64% of people in the Czech Republic do not do sports at all or do it rarely.
According to the 2014 Eurobarometer study, 64% of people in the Czech Republic do not do sports at all or do it rarely. The EU average is 59%. Moreover, almost one third of Czechs spend an average of 5.5 to 8.5 hours a day sitting and 20% even more than 8.5 hours a day! These are alarming numbers indeed! Furthermore, in the 2008 report of the World Health Organization (WHO) the Czech Republic ranks first in the European list of overweight adult males. The WHO recommends children and adolescents at least 60 minutes of physical activity five times a week.
