Grenoble celebrates the Olympics – 1968 meets 2018

The first edition of the Olympic Festival in France took place on 10 -25 February 2018 in the Palais des sports in Grenoble. Throughout its 15 days, the Olympic Festival became the “place to be” to celebrate and enjoy the Winter Olympic Games Pyeongchang 2018 and, at the same time, the 50th Anniversary of the 1968 Grenoble Olympics.

Everybody, no matter the age, background or abilities was welcome at the Festival. Activities were adapted and the entrance to the venue was free. Members of sport clubs, sport enthusiasts, young fans, and winter and summer sport lovers…the Olympic Festival in Grenoble gave all of them the opportunity to experience the Olympic Games and support the French National Team.

With more than 20 000 visitors, the first edition of the Olympic Festival in France can be considered a great success. The people of Grenoble warmly welcomed the initiative, which was brought to live by the French National Olympic and Sport Committee (CNOSF), its departmental Committee of Isère, and the City of Grenoble.
